Why Counseling?

Telemental Health Available

Have you been feeling overwhelmed by life lately? Are you facing challenging life situations such as caretaker burnout, depression, anxiety, divorce, loss, or other life transitions? Have you been feeling like you are alone, and no one understands what you are going through? If your answer to any of these questions is yes, then counseling is for you.

The first step in reaching out for assistance is the hardest one. It is hard for some people to speak with someone they do not know and for other people it is easier. Effective counseling happens when there is a trusting relationship between the individual and the counselor. As your counselor, I am committed to providing you with an environment where you feel safe to share what's on your heart and mind.

My desire is to support you on your journey of healing, enlightenment, and recovery by creating a comforting and trusting therapeutic environment. Using an evidence-based client-centered, and solution-focused approach, my purpose is to provide a safe and supportive space where we can collaborate and work at your own pace to help you reach your goals.

Your situation may have you feeling like it is hopeless — but there is hope! The sooner you get started and give yourself to the process, the faster you may see life-changing results. It all starts with the first step of reaching out. Contact me now and take that second step towards your journey of healing.

Meet Tonya.

Tonya completed her Master of Arts in Professional Counseling at Liberty University in 2017. Her counseling experience includes six-month practicum student internship at Navicent Health, a Trauma Hospital in Macon, Georgia and six months as a student intern at C&T Counseling in Marietta, Georgia working with court mandated clients. Tonya has continued to work with C&T Counseling post-graduation since January 2018 as a Contract Counselor. In this position Tonya continues to provide individual and group services to self-referred and court mandated clients.

Tonya's Counseling Background

Faith is an important part of life for many people. As a Counselor and a Christian, Tonya makes room for your spiritual beliefs as faith can be an important component in healing. Faith may not be as important to you and that is okay as it does not have to be a part of the process. This is your journey and your decision to travel the road you want to travel, the way you want to travel it will be respected. Tonya works with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and religions on issues that include depression, sexual trauma, substance use/abuse, anger management, family violence, marriage counseling, spirituality, mental health and life concerns. Her experience includes adults (17-70) individuals and psycho-educational groups.

Services Offered

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy sessions are here to help you grow as an individual. Too many times our thoughts become distorted by life and we find it difficult to see the full picture. When this happens the thought patterns and behaviors involved must be identified, re-framed, and implemented with a new sense of understanding of self. Your sessions are designed to meet your needs and to equip you with the tools you need to potentially experience the growth and change that you have been searching for.

Couples Therapy

Do you feel unheard by your significant other? Chances are they feel the same way and they aren't exactly sure how to articulate it. Couples therapy will help to identify the patterns and cycles of difficulty that seem to be thriving more in  the relationship than the love that was initially felt. In my sessions we will find ways to enhance trust, intimacy, and a renewed sense of commitment to one another. Real growth as a couple takes both people equally putting in effort, and the sessions will help you and your significant other gain the tools to do that.
